David Jones, KEYNOTE
Associate Director, University of California Pavement Research Center

Dr. David Jones is the Associate Director of the University of California Pavement Research Center in Davis California, where he manages research into sustainable road and airfield design with special interest in accelerated load testing, in-place pavement recycling, the use of recycled materials in pavement layers, permeable pavements, and low-volume road management. He works closely with federal, state, and local road agencies to implement research findings, evaluate performance, and to refine life-cycle costs and life-cycle environmental impacts of the various initiatives.

Crumb Rubber is a keynote topic at this year’s conference. This keynote session covers the expansion of the use of crumbed rubber beyond sprayed seals providing an improved binder with reliable engineering properties.

Tyre Stewardship Australia, Conference Silver Sponsors, are supporting this session which includes world renowned crumb rubber expert, Dr David Jones who will be providing feedback on the successful use and performance of crumb rubber modified asphalt in California and across the USA.

As part of his presentation he will also cover the environmental evaluation of of the use of this binder.
